Lindsey’s Wish helps children who are affected by cancer by extending hope to families wishing for a better tomorrow.
In May 2010, Lindsey Hammortree was first diagnosed with Alveolar Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. After a two-year fight, this precious 18-year old finally succumbed to this insidious disease. With love, devotion and passion, Lindsey’s family and friends quickly created Lindsey’s Wish to assist families with children in our community who are fighting cancer.
In July 2015, on what would have been Lindsey’s 21st birthday, Lindsey’s Wish joined the Champion for Children Foundation. As a community initiative of the Foundation, Lindsey’s Wish helps children who are battling cancer by extending hope to families wishing for a better tomorrow. Financial assistance is available to help with food, travel, utility, and other non-medical related expenses.
While Lindsey’s vibrant life was cut short, her beautiful legacy lives on through the lives of children helped by this fund. If you know of a child in Highlands County who has been diagnosed with cancer, please let their family know about the financial assistance available through Lindsey’s Wish.
